Winner at the 2014 International Latino Book Awards. An encouraging story about overcoming our fears.

The sea, mist, loud noises… Iván’s afraid of everything! There are times when he dreams about great adventures and visiting far-away lands, but most of the time, he was afraid. And with all those frights and shivers, those adventures seem more and more unlikely.

Then, one afternoon in August, on Iván’s seventh birthday, an unexpected visitor arrived at his house. It was his Uncle Harry, who had returned from one of his long journeys around Africa and had come to wish Ivan a happy birthday. Perhaps things were about to change.
