September 2026 Box Preview

...

Before September boxes head out the door, here's a first look at some of the titles your readers might find inside — a secret pet, a bunny bath, a lift-the-flap guessing game, and more.

Note: This isn't the full list — we always keep a few surprises in reserve — but it's a good look at the range of what's on tap for our readers.

MI PERRO Y YO

A little girl finds a dog in the park. It is, to everyone else in the world, plainly a bear. She brings it home anyway, quietly, because her parents have been clear on the subject of pets — and then begins to worry that somewhere out there, somebody might be missing it.

A warm, funny story about affection and the responsibility that arrives with it. Written by Luca Tortellini, illustrated by Felicita Sala, from Ediciones El Naranjo in Mexico.

A BAÑARSE, CONEJITOS

A whole family of bunnies gathers around the tub, and every one of them feels differently about it — sleepy, giggly, a little scared, or quietly hoping to vanish under the bubbles. The rhyming text finds real warmth in a routine most households run on autopilot.

From Editorial Amanuta, the independent Chilean publisher that won the 2023 Bologna Prize for best children's publisher in South America.

EL LADRÓN DE HOJAS: LOS COLORES

Ardilla y Pájaro — a squirrel and a bird, best of friends — spend the book talking about color. What color is Bird's new hat? What about the leaves, now that autumn has arrived? Every answer waits under a flap, which means every question is a chance to guess first.

From Ediciones Jaguar in Madrid.

COURAGEOUS CAMILA / CAMILA LA VALIENTE

Camila signs up for her first martial arts class, and what follows isn't a straight line. Excitement, then nerves, then a few setbacks, then the slow work of showing up again. It's a book about the kind of courage a child builds rather than arrives with.

Told page for page in English and Spanish, so it reads either way.

ALEBRIJES: NUMBERS / NÚMEROS

One whimsical axolotl. Ten colorful chameleons. The numbers 1 through 10 in English and Spanish, each carried by an alebrije — the fantastical creatures of Mexican folklore, painted in bold colors and intricate patterns.
